Water Purification

During the production process, 2 main waste streams of water are generated:

  • Gas condensate, which is created by cooling the process gas.
  • Drainage water, which is extracted from under the furnaces.

Both streams are purified by settling, aeration and filtration techniques, then completely recycled. Water purification not only significantly reduces air emissions, it also benefits industrial hygiene and soil protection. In addition, approximately 200,000 m3 of tap water is saved, roughly equivalent to the consumption of 1,300 households.
